HAL Management Trainee Selection Process

As part of the HAL Management Trainee selection process, there will be different phases through which candidates must appear. The first phase is the All India Online Test and the second phase will be the Interview. After the candidates qualify for both online tests and interviews, the candidates will have to appear for a pre-employment medical test which will determine if they are fit medically or not.

• Written Test: An online test is conducted as the first phase of the HAL Management Trainee recruitment process. The online test is conducted for 160 marks and questions are asked from the arenas of General Awareness, English & Reasoning, and the concerned discipline of Engineering.
• Interview: The interview round is conducted to assess an individual's skills and practical knowledge. Candidates are advised to be confident and speak effectively during the interview.

The HAL Management Trainee exam pattern for the online test is given below. The test will have questions from General Awareness, English, and Reasoning and concerned discipline from Engineering.

Important Note:

• The candidates will be shortlisted for an interview on the basis of online test marks in order of merit in the ratio of 1: 5 to the number of vacancies in each discipline and category.
• All General candidates of each discipline/ post along with candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC(NCL) / EWS category of each discipline who do not avail any relaxation, will be grouped together and then arranged in descending order of merit and they will be called for interview in the ratio of 1:5 in General category.
• Candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC(NCL)/ EWS categories who are not shortlisted for the interview under the General category will be regrouped with their respective categories and will be called for interview in the ratio of 1:5 in their respective category.
• The final merit list shall be prepared by assigning the weightage of 85% marks for online test and 15% marks for interviews.

Candidates who will be provisionally selected by HAL, including PwBDs, will have to undergo a

Pre-employment Medical Examination before joining HAL. The recruited candidates should have sound health and should meet the medical standards as prescribed by the Company. The important points regarding HAL Management Trainee medical standards are given below:

• Appointment of selected candidates will be subject to receipt of the satisfactory medical report as per the Medical Standards of the Company.
• The decision of the Company’s Doctor in this regard will be final and binding.

HAL Management Trainee Service Agreement Bond

Selected candidates shall execute a Service Agreement Bond to serve HAL for a period of 5 years (excluding the training period). In case of breach of the Service Agreement during the training period or after absorption as Engineer, the candidate is liable to reimburse the actual training expenses subject to a maximum of Rs. 5,00,000/- (Rupees Five Lakhs only).

HAL Management Trainee Salary

The HAL Management Trainee is eligible for various allowances along with the prescribed salary. The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited governs the salary for the Management Trainee. The salary structure as per the HAL Management Trainee notification has been given below:

• Recruited candidates would be posted in any of the Production, Overhaul or Services Divisions / Research & Management Centres / Offices, based on the requirements of the Company.
• The HAL Management Trainee probation period will be of 52 weeks which will include theoretical & on-the-job training. During the training period, the Trainees shall draw a Stipend comprising Basic Pay of Rs. 40000/-, Variable Dearness Allowance & Canteen Allowance.
• The location where the selected candidates will be posted will be decided before joining HAL. Besides, bachelor accommodation is also admissible during the training period, as per the Company Rules.
