The official HPSC AE notification 2021 will be released soon by the Haryana Public Service Commission. The HPSC AE recruitment 2020 aims at hiring candidates for the Class-II Assistant Engineers for both Civil & Mechanical streams in the Public Health Department. Candidates must know the eligibility criteria like age, education, etc. before applying.

  • HPSC AE vacancies 2021 are not yet released, however for the previous year, 29 vacancies were released.
  • Candidates should be within the age limit of 20 to 42 years to be eligible for the HPSC AE Recruitment 2021.

The HPSC AE application is the first step towards the selection of a candidate for the post of Assistant Engineer. The aspirants are required to submit the necessary information to fill the application form. After successfully filling the application form for the HPSC AE Recruitment 2020, the candidate needs to pay the application fees at any branch of State Bank of Patiala and State of India.

Documents Required for the HPSC AE Recruitment Online Application Form 2021

While applying online for the HPSC AE post, a candidate needs to submit documents prescribed by the commission. Refer to the list below while you are are filling the application form:

  1. Scanned colored copy of the photograph of the applicant.
  2. Scanned signature copy of the applicant.
  3. Educational qualification certificates along with the mark sheets.
  4. Any government Identification proof as prescribed by the commission.

HPSC AE Recruitment Eligibility Criteria 2021

Candidates who are preparing for the exams under HPSC AE need to be aware of the minimum eligibility criteria to apply for the post. Only the candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will be accepted for the exam. The HPSC AE eligibility criteria include Age and Education qualification of an individual. Refer to the information given below for computer details with respect to different categories.

Age Limit

Before applying for HPSC AE Recruitment 2020 the applicant must be at least 20 years of age and a maximum of 42 years. Along with this certain reserved categories also have age relaxations

  1. The Upper age limit is relaxable upto 45 years of age for the following people.
  2. Unmarried women of Haryana city only-
  • Wives of disabled Ex-servicemen with a disability of 20 % to 50% and widows.
  • Women whose husbands have been ordered by Courts either civil or criminal to pay maintenance.
  • Women whose husbands have remarried or women who are legally separated from their husbands or have been divorced.
  • Women living separately from their husbands for more than two years because of various reasons such as desertion, Wives of serving/disabled military personnel, and widows of those killed in action.

Please note - Women who are living separately from her husband cause of desertion have to submit an affidavit while they are applying for the HPSC AE Recruitment 2020

This affidavit should be countersigned by two responsible persons who are members of the Legislative Assembly, Local Bodies, Panchayats and the Bar Association. Where, however, a woman who has remarried, she would not be eligible for the above concession in the matter of age. 

Upper age is also relaxable for people where the posts are reserved.

Note- To prove your age for the application of the HPSC AE exam the authority considers a Matriculation certificate or equivalent academic certificate these two are the only acceptable documents.

Education Qualification

The education qualification for both the Assistant Engineer Civil and Mechanical Engineer are almost similar but refer to the below information

 for the complete clarity on the same.

(A) Assistant Engineer (Civil) 

(i) Degree of a recognized University or any one of the other equivalent qualifications in Civil Engineering specified in Appendix B to the Punjab Service of Engineers Class-II PWD (Public Health) Rules,1966. 

(ii) Hindi / Sanskrit upto Matric Standard. 

(B) Assistant Engineer (Mechanical) 

(i) Degree of a recognized University or any one of the other equivalent qualifications in Mechanical Engineering specified in Appendix B to the Punjab Service of Engineers Class-II PWD (Public Health) Rules,1966. 

(ii) Hindi / Sanskrit upto Matric Standard. 

Note-The Degree obtained through distance learning education mode from Universities/Deemed Universities/Technical Institutions is a valid qualification for initial recruitment only, if such Degree program of technical education conducted through distance education mode has been approved by the Joint Committee of UGC-AICTE-DEC as clarified by the Govt. of Haryana vide its letter No. 42/178/2008-5GSI dated 21.05.2009. HPSC AE Selection Process 2021

The selection process of the HPSC Assistant Engineer consists of two stages, the first will be the written test and the second will be Interview. A candidate needs to clear both the rounds to be shortlisted for the final HPSC AE merit list. 

Stage I- Written Exam

  • The written test is divided into two sections. Section 1 is an objective paper while section 2 consists of conventional papers for both Civil and Mechanical exams.
  • The written test is of total of 1000 marks for each civil and mechanical exam.( Including both objective and conventional)
  • A candidate needs to score at least 40% marks in each subject and 50% marks aggregate to be eligible to clear the exam. Also, the candidates will be shortlisted on the merit list i.e all those who have secured more.

Stage - II Interview

  • After qualifying for the written test the candidates will have to go through the second stage i.e Interview in order to be shortlisted for the post.
  • The Interview consists of 125 marks where apart from knowledge on the subjects in order to clear the second stage he/she will also have to possess soft skills.

HPSC AE Recruitment Syllabus 2021 

The HPSC AE Recruitment 2020 Syllabus is divided into Two Parts Civil Engineering & Mechanical Engineering. Please find the detailed syllabus below to strategize your preparation.

Civil Engineering (For both Objective and Conventional Type Paper) 

Paper-1 

(i) Building Materials and Construction- Stones, Timber, Bricks, Cement, Mortar, Concrete, Masonry, Steel.

(ii) Solid Mechanics- Stresses, Strains, Failures, Theories of Solid Material, Simple Bending and Torsion Theories, Shear Centre. 

(iii) Graphic Static- Force Polygon, Stress diagram. 

(iv) Structural Analysis - Analysis of trusses and frames, Introduction to plastic Analysis. 

(v) Design of Metal Structure - Working stress and ultimate strength design of simple structures. (vi) Design of Concrete and Masonry Structures- Design of masonry walls, working stress design of plain, reinforced, and prestressed concrete, ultimate strength design of reinforced and prestressed concrete. 

Paper-II 

(i) Fluid Mechanics, Water Resources Engineering –Open channel and pipe flow. Hydrology Design of canals and hydraulic structures. 

(ii) Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering and their general principles. Strength parameters, Earth pressures Theories, Design of Shallow and Deep Foundations. 

(iii) Transportation Engineering including Railway Engineering and Surveying, Roads Superelevation, Ruling gradient pavements, Traffic controls, Design Considerations. 

(iv) Environmental Engineering – Water purifications, Sewerage treatment and disposal Construction Planning and Management – Elements of construction practice. Bar charts, CPM, PERT. 

Mechanical Engineering (For both Objective and Conventional Type Paper) 

Paper-I

(i) Thermodynamics: Laws, Properties of ideal gases and vapours, Power Cycles, Gas Power Cycles, Gas Turbine Cycles, Fuels and Combustion. 

(ii) IC Engines: CI and SI engines Detonation, Fuel injection and car-buration. Performance and Testing. Turbojet and Turbo-prop Engines, Rocket Engines, Elementary Knowledge of Nuclear Power Plants and Nuclear Fuels. 

(iii) Steam Boiler, Engines, Nozzles and Steam Turbines Modern boilers, Steam Turbines types Flow of Steam through nozzles. Velocity diagrams for impulse and Reaction Turbines. Efficiencies and Governing. 

(iv) Compressors, Gas Dynamics and Gas Turbines Reciprocating Centrifugal and axial flow compressor. Velocity diagrams, Efficiency and Performance, Effect of Mechanical number on flow, isentropic flow. Normal Shocks and Flow through nozzles Gas Turbine Cycle with multistage compression. Reheating and Regeneration. 

(v) Heat Transfer, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning, Conduction, Convection and Radiation, Heat exchangers, types, combined Heat Transfer, Overall Heat Transfer coefficient, Refrigeration and heat pump cycles. Refrigeration systems. Coefficient of performance. Psychometrics and psychrometric chart, Comfort indices, Cooling and dehumidification methods. Industrial-Air Conditioning Process. Cooling and heating loads calculations. 

(vi) Prosperities and classification of fluid. Fluid statics, kinematics and dynamics; principles and applications. Manometry and Buoyancy. Flow of ideal fluids. Laminar and turbulent flows, Boundary layer theory. Flow over immersed bodies. Flow through pipes and open channels. 7 Dimensional analysis and similitude technique. Non-dimensional specific speed and classification of fluid mechanics in general. Energy transfer relation performance and operation of pumps and of impulse and reaction water turbines. Hydrodynamic power transmission. 

Paper-II

 (i) Theory of Machines: Velocity and acceleration (i) of moving bodies (ii) in machines. Klien‟s construction, Inertia forces in machines. Cams, Gears and Gearing. Flywheels and Governors, Balancing of Rotating and Reciprocating masses. Free and forced vibrations of systems. Critical speeds and whirling of shafts.

 (ii) Machine Design: Design of Joints- Threaded fasteners and Power Screws-Keys, Kotter's Coupling Welded Joints. Transmission system-Belt and chain drives-wire ropes-shafts. Gears-*Siding and Rolling bearings. 

(iii) Strength of Materials : Stress and strain in two dimensions; Mohr‟s circles: relations between Elastic Constants. Beams-Bending moments, shearing forces and reflection. Shafts-combined bending, direct and torsional stresses. Thick Walled cylinder and spheres under Pressure, Springs Struts and columns, Theories of failure. 

(iv) Engineering Materials; Alloys and Alloying Materials, heat treatment; Composition, properties and uses, Plastics and other newer engineering materials. 

(v) Production Engineering: Metal Machinery: Cutting Tools: Tool Materials, Wear and Machinability, measurement of cutting forces. Process: Machining Grinding, Boring, Geer, Manufacturing, Metal forming, Metal Casting and jointing, Basic, Special Purpose, Programme and numerically controlled machine tools, Jigs and fixtures (locating elements). 

(vi) Industrial Engineering: Work study and work measurement Wage incentive, Design of Production System and Product Cost, Principles of Plant layout. Production Planning and Control Material handling, Operations Research, Linear Programming queuing Theory, Value Engineering, Network Analysis CPM and PERT. Use of computers.

HPSC AE Recruitment Admit Card 2021

The Admit card for HPSC AE Recruitment 2021 is released on 28th August 2020. One needs to carry the admit card to the exam hall along with a valid Identification proof and two recent photographs which are not more than 3 months old. Kindly follow the steps mentioned below to download the admit card.

Step 2-Register yourself if you still haven’t. To register yourself you will require to upload a recent photograph, ID Proof and digital signature.
